Book Nooks

I love reading and crafting, so I find book nooks to be a fun addition to my bookshelf! If you haven’t seen them before, they are small dioramas that fit the height of a bookshelf. They can be any width, but I typically make mine the width of 3 or 4 books. I also love to add lighting to mine. The electrical needed is basic, but I feel that the lighting adds a lot of depth to the final product.

  • A Play on Words

This book nook emphasized the connotations of different words. The left side represents the phrase “cottage in the forest”, which would make us think of a warm, inviting place. The right side represents the phrase “cabin in the woods”, which has been used in the horror genre so now makes more people think of a dangerous, abandoned house.

  • Pinky's (Honor Among Thieves)

This book nook represents a specific scene from the sci-fi book “Honor Among Thieves” by Rachel Caine and Ann Aguirre. The main character (the human towards the front) finds help from a group of alien characters (the others around the same table) in a bar called “Pinky’s”. This scene is inspired by that section of the series.
