I have worked in Dr. Naguib’s Novel Energy Materials lab for 2.5 years. I really enjoy my lab work and the continuous learning that takes place in a lab. I have worked on different projects over the years, which has given me the opportunity to receive training on most of the equipment we use in our lab. This year, that has been especially true. I am working on my current project largely solo after initial training. This project is exploring synthesis techniques for High-Entropy Transition Metal Carbo Chalcogenides (that’s a mouthful!). I took my experiments all the way through completely on my own, from material preparation, synthesis, characterization, through analyzing characterization results myself. We discuss our progress and results during weekly lab meetings. This fall semester, I presented my project from start to finish.
